Joe & Jake have a great place to hang out and play in. Their mom turned their WHOLE living room into a totally kid-proofed, kid-friendly, toy-filled playroom with the best toys. I love it there. I want to rent out this space.

San Francisco Weekend

We just returned from a long weekend in San Francisco where we visited with some old friends. The third floor of their 1865 pre-Victorian in Pacific Heights had THE BEST playroom we've ever seen. Not only did it come filled with great new toys, but 3 really fun friends to play with each day! Thank you Mika, Noelle, Annika, Natasha & Aksel!

Jomie & Pals

Thanks for dinner, Jomie! Today's highlights included finding our Little Tykes Coupe Car at a garage sale for a few bucks then riding up and down the street for about a half an hour (approximately 15 laps) -- thanks for pushing mom, and having dinner with friends. Here are pics of Ava's pals.

Spring Has Sprung -- Finally!

Need I say more....finally we have sunshine and warmth and its like magic dust has sprinkled on our city from above.



And....in our swim class today we BOTH went underwater and held our breath. Ready, Set, Ummmmmmmmmm......!

Baby Personal: BL/BL, HWP

Today Ava had her 1 year check-up.While seemingly much bigger than some of her baby peers, she is actually in the 76% for height and the 80% for weight. Go figure. Not so big afterall. Perhaps everyone else is just SMALL.

Happy Mother's Day!

We had brunch with friends then headed over to Ava's cousins to celebrate Mother's Day. Boy did they have some pretty fun toys to ride on.

A Birthday Celebration

Looks like we will be doing a few small birthday celebrations for Ava....here are a few pictures of todays small gathering of friends. The video footage we shot today is priceless. Maybe I'll get around to posting some of that one of these days -- for now a few stills.

Thanks to Anna for having her camera today after our walk at the park. The weather looked as if it might rain when our walk began, but afterwards it seemed almost like the Spring afternoons we have been longing for....with sunshine and everything!

Recycling

Today I recycled an old cashmere sweater that hasn't fit me well since I got pregnant into a cute little dress for Ava. The color is perfect for her too! I zigzagged away to keep my edges from fraying (I hope!) and - VOILA! - A dress is born -- and all within a window of a nice, long, 2-hour nap no less. I'm pretty pleased with myself since I DO NOT SEW. ;)

Bedtime Bath Series 1

Over the next couple of days I will post some of the pictures from this series...By the way, I THINK that I can see some new teeth just below the surface of Ava's gums which can account for all the finger chewing (as seen in many of our pictures lately)!



Why does Ava's bathroom get some of the best natural lighting in our house to take pictures? In general that is not terribly practical...but, I do love it in these pictures....

Practice Makes Perfect

Today Ava's cousins came over so that she could share a birthday celebration with her cousin Ty who just turned 6. Ava sampled her first eggs, pancakes and breakfast sausage (chicken) and then her first cupcake.



Ava didn't want to stop hugging all the boys. She was so happy to celebrate with them.
