My First Newborn Shoot

This afternoon I got the amazing opportunity to do my first newborn baby photoshoot....and boy did I luck out. I got a totally easy mom and baby. And the icing on the cake is -- the baby is GORGEOUS. With a name like Elle would you expect any less? Anyway, here is an untouched, straight out of the camera, picture that I love.

Three Parks Today, Oh My!

Today we visited 3 different parks! The last, a park I frequented myself as a child, was by far the best. And, to visit it with one of my own childhood friends was a special treat too....I'm savoring the moments of our time spent together and our daughters being together since she will soon be moving out of state. Don't get me started....sniff...sniff.

And then, a bath in the kitchen sink...what a day!

New Fave Portrait Sitting Spot

It turns out that there is some great diffused, natural lighting in our front entryway. And, Ava likes to sit on the bottom step which is helpful!!! You just HAVE TO click on this pic to see it larger. This small size in the blog doesn't do it justice!

Hugs & Kisses for Mom

Ava is a great hugger and just this week she started giving me kisses. Up till now they've all gone to her stuffed animals.....

This evening a few friends came by for dinner on the patio. We sat outside until well after it was dark. It was one of those warm evenings when it didn't start to get a chill till close to 11pm. The food was amazing - thanks to my husband - a wonderful cook. Friends were fabulous. A perfect night.

PEPS In Max's Yard!

This morning we had our PEPS gathering in Max's yard....one of the loveliest yard's I have the pleasure of spending time in....it is an in-city oasis to say the least. Max's mom has the greenest thumb and the best eye for gardening. It doesn't hurt that they have a very cool cabana made in their converted garage. If I could transplant their backyard into my own I would.

Action item: invite Renee over and have her redesign my space soon!

In other exciting news, a dear family friend (and the girl I babysat the most growing up) has asked me to take the wedding photos at her upcoming ceremony. What an incredible honor. I can't think of an event I'd like to capture more beautifully than their pending nuptials.

My Three Nephews

I took this picture of my nephews on my birthday and they all told me that they would stand still and not give me goofy poses only because it was my birthday and that was their gift to me! What a great gift. Still, we are going to try to do a whole photoshoot with these three in the next couple of weeks. I can't wait to see how their energy and enthusiasm will be captured.
